Green light for civic activism projects in 2009
January 21, 2009
The series of trainings and workshops will be carried out by the Malopolska Educational Society (MTO) based in Nowy Sacz, southern Poland, with financial support from the Washington, DC-based National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

The aim of the project is to support the development of civil society in the three countries by encouraging mutually beneficial cooperation among Polish, Ukrainian, Azeri and Georgian partners to promote grassroots initiatives at the elementary and high school levels.

The series is based on the Public Achievement format. Public Achievement was originally conceived in the US, and MTO is its leading "distributor" in south-eastern Europe.

All of the activities in this year's series continue or build upon previous work in the region and strive to promote sustainability, to foster inter-region and inter-country cooperation and involvement in larger networks of like-minded civil society formal and informal groups.
