February 9, 2012
The presentation and talks were part of a series of international meetings, conferences and seminars staged in Warsaw during the second half of 2011 on the occasion of Poland’s six-month presidency of the European Union.

The meetings that MTO took part in were organised by an umbrella group of Polish NGOs working outside Poland, of which MTO itself is a member.

On 30 November MTO President Beata Budzik and Alicia Derkowska presented various programmes that MTO has run in 15 countries in Europe. Delegates from all the Arab countries, especially Libya, expressed great interest. After the presentation, MTO held discussions with young delegates from Libya and other Polish organizations working in Libya, exploring options for MTO to introduce its civil society development work there, such as social entrepreneurship development by means of the Public Achievement model.

On 1-2 December 2011 MTO participated in the conference The European Union and its southern neighbors – New perspectives of mutual cooperation in a changing environment. In this high-level conference brought together representatives of governments of all EU Member States and all Arab countries, as well as a variety of supranational structures such as the Arab League, Council of Europe, European Development Bank, etc. Only a few Polish NGOs were observers of the conference, MTO being one of them.
